Dear Sir or Madam,
We are pleased to inform you that next year we will once again meet at our conference in Kazimierz Dolny on the Vistula River. As we are expanding the scope of the conference to include issues related to the security of the power system, we have also updated its name to: Power System: Operational and Market Security (SEBOR).
The SEBOR Conference will be a continuation of the annual conference series “Electricity Market,” held since 1994. As some of you have experienced, our conference has served as a forum for exchanging ideas and a platform for discussing solutions. The range of topics has always been broad and, most importantly, relevant. We began by seeking solutions to problems related to the formation of the electricity market in Poland, including dilemmas arising from market consolidation and liberalization in the early 2000s. We have actively voiced opinions on energy policy and the energy transition of the power sector.
The high substantive quality of the conference has been confirmed by the patronage and active participation of senior officials from ministries overseeing various energy sectors. From the very beginning, the Presidents of the Energy Regulatory Office have played an active role in shaping the character and topics of the conference. A tradition of the conference has also been the plenary papers prepared by the Energy Market Agency. For many years, we have received expert support from numerous energy sector associations, including: IEPiOE, PTEZ (PTEC), PTPIREE, TEW, TGPE, and TOE. The conference has been organized by a team of academic staff from Lublin University of Technology, and since 2007, in cooperation with the Lublin Branch of the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers (SEP). A long-standing substantive partner of the conference has been Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A., the operator of the national power system.
Our ambition is to maintain the high quality of the conference, both in its technical and scientific dimensions, covering key aspects of the development and functioning of the power system that influence its future shape. Therefore, we have decided to expand the thematic scope of the conference to include issues related to broadly understood energy security. This includes resource adequacy and operational measures to ensure continuity and quality of electricity supply, as well as the impact of structural changes in the power system on its economic performance and the competitiveness of Polish industry.
The program partner and co-organizer of the conference in its new form will be the Institute of Power Engineering – National Research Institute, while the substantive partner, as before, will be PSE S.A. The technical organization will continue to be provided by Lublin University of Technology and the Lublin Branch of SEP.
Work is currently underway to finalize the conference program. Detailed information, including the date of the new Scientific and Technical Conference: Power System: Operational and Market Security – SEBOR, will be announced in May this year, following the meeting of the Program Council.
As tradition dictates, the conference will be held in Kazimierz Dolny on the Vistula River.
All information will be available on our website.
With kind regards, SEBOR 2026 Organizing Committee
